Mountain biking in Tamil Nadu provides opportunities for scenic voyages through the unventured and underexplored terrains. The sport that is rapidly gaining popularity demands trails and facilities of utmost quality. Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation has set up India’s first ever mountain bike park and none other than the Queen of Hill Stations is the ideal location for that. The mountain bike park, established in Ooty as part of a collaborative venture of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Cooperation and TI Cycles India, provides the riders an astonishing track capable of delivering an enthralling experience regardless of their level of expertise.
The mountain bike park offers four tracks with varying difficulty levels. The Easy level has gentle undulations and enables the riders to cover a riding distance of upto 60 km. The Gentle course with its rolling terrain and occasional moderate and challenging climbs will provide a riding distance of 80 km, and riders with advanced levels of expertise can utilize the Moderate and Challenge courses. The steep ascents and sudden drops of these sections will truly test the mettle of any rider.
Beginners or experts, the track promises everyone a challenging and thrilling experience. Be it a simple tabletop jump or wall ride, the park offers a wide variety of obstacles and challenges, that too without having to disturb even a single tree. The uncompromising safety features, including safety mesh barriers and foam-padded trees, ensure a safe and quality time of enjoyment for everyone. In addition to the mountain bike course, guided Segway tours and activities for kids are also available.
